Greetings fellow shuffleboard enthusiasts.

Entries for the 2001 NASC™ are continuing to come in at a strong pace. With a little more than a month to go before the tournament, there are already more than 140 paid players. We are pleased to report that despite the tragedies of two weeks ago, no players have cancelled. Anyone who needs a registration form can print one off of our web site by clicking 2001 NASC™ Registration Form. Other tournament information is available on the tournament web site, which you can get to by clicking 2001 NASC™.
Southwest Airlines has just announced some great travel bargains. Some examples are: roundtrip airfare from Indianapolis for $202.00, and Oklahoma City and Houston from $199.50. Orbitz.com. has roundtrip fares from Austin, Texas for $195.00, Omaha from $185.00 and Seattle, Washington from $122.00.
The Sands has waived the restriction on Saturday arrivals because the NASC has grown into one of their biggest events. Anyone who has trouble booking a Saturday arrival with the Hotel or through the purchase of a room and airfare package should call us at 800-380-3033.
Just a reminder, the starting time for the Pro/Am Draft has been changed from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Although that will allow people who want to fly in on Sunday morning to participate, please take into consideration that it is still mandatory that anyone who is playing in that event check in personally by 12:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon. Anyone has not checked in by that time will be dropped.
We are asking that anyone who intends to order one of the 2001 NASC™ Embroidered Jackets or Co-Sponsor Shirts prior to the tournament to please do so by October 10 to ensure you will have it at the tournament. Although both of those items will be available for purchase at the tournament, we sometimes have stronger than expected sales of a particular size and run out before the end of the tournament. Pre-ordering will guarantee that we have your Co-Sponsor shirt and/or NASC™ embroidered jacket for you in the size that you prefer. As we mentioned in the last issue of BoardBits.com, we are looking to hire a couple of people to work the tournament. Their primary duties will be waxing boards during tournament play and helping to prep the boards in the mornings.
